Leather, Nutella and a new header.

Another 'NEED!' this fall: Leather, and particularly a leather skirt.
Tomboy-vintage-y on the left, Buisiness-ladylike on the right.

I'll just type the recipe here.
Makes 8-10 Cake Roll Lady Finger Nutella Muffins.
  • 3 Eggs
  • 65g Sugar
  • 80g Cake flour
  • 20g Butter, melted
  • 40g Nutella
  • 9 30g Melted chocolate
  • 2-3 Drops vanilla extract
  • 35-50 lady fingers
  • 30-100g melted chocolate
  • Whipped cream

The cake
Sift cake flour and put baking parchment on a baking tray, ±25x30cm (Or even better; a Swiss roll tray).
Mix eggs and sugar for 7-10mins, make sure there are no air-bubbles in it anymore.
Add baking powder in three separate additions, use a spatula. Don’t deflate the batter.
Add melted butter and vanilla extract, fold with the spatula until it’s well blended.
Bake for 10-15mins, make sure the batter won’t get too dry. Use a skewer to check if the cake is done. If it comes out clean, your cake is good.
Remove the sponge cake from the tray, keep the parchment underneath the cake.
Cover the sponge cake with a towel or a plastic bag to keep it moist and let it cool down.
Remove the parchment and put the cake on a new parchment, putting the side with the ‘crust’ down. Spread with 40gNutella, or 30gmelted chocolate.
Roll the cake by lifting up the parchment, Place the rolled cake seam-side down.

The lay-out. (You can also buy a ready-to-eat cake roll and save tons of time.)
Slice the cake in pieces of ±3cm. And put one of them on a clean piece of baking parchment.
Melt the chocolate and dip ½ of the lady fingers in it. Use the rest of the melted chocolate to spread the outside of the cake roll and place the lady fingers against it.
Use a spatula to remove the cake with the lady fingers from the parchment, so the chocolate spill that comes dripping underneath the lady fingers won’t come with the cake. Serve with Whipped cream, ice cream or leftover melted chocolate on top.

And for the banner, I used:
A: Camilla Skovgaard heels, Miu Miu boots, Cutler and Gross glasses, Nixon watch.
D: Givenchy heels, Marni broche, Isabel Marant feather earrings, Monica Vinader earrings.
H: Miu Miu belt, Alexander Wang boots, YSL earrings, Tory Burch flats.

I hope you like it.

Fall in love with fall in love with fall.

I hate creating titles.

In the next weeks I'm going to tell you what fall pieces you must own (or you must die.) and create two outfits with them.
This week: The cape/poncho.
One in minimal 70's, the other in countryside 70's.

And a new model, which I'll call Miranda for no reason. With an outfit and with a close-up of the boots.
I don't like the way the blue turned out, but whatever. (:

Back and On Track.

I developped a sudden adoration for the fall collections. The magazines, the advertorials, new models, new clothes.

So when I came home early from vacation I went online and searched the 'New This Week'-thingies on my favorite online-shops, Net-a-porter and Mytheresa.
And these are the clothes I need. (Well, I'm going to try to find look-a-likes, as you could have expected.)
Marni, Bally, Alexander Wang, YSL, Acne, Theyskens Theory via Net-a-porter.
3.1 Phillip Lim, Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang via Mytheresa.

This fall I might buy bourdeaux or forest-green clothes, to bring some 'color' to my black-grey-dark blue-wardrobe.

That Versace bag is by far the cutest bag on earth/in the universe. I just want it in petrol O:

And the inspiration behind it.

Make me happy.

Shopping does.
What I bought Wednesday. The shawl is to wrap around the sunhat.
Hat €14,99. Shawl €2,95. Blouse €15,00. Wallet €8,95. Shorts (To wear underneath a skirt/as pyjamas) €4,95.
Decided to make some vintage-y card with it.
(Top: ZOI via Shoeby, Skirt: H&M, Sunhat with shawl: V&D/H&M)
Added: Victoria Beckham Sunglasses, YSL Ring. (Via Net-a-porter.)
(Sorry for the crappy quality)
(P.S. Yell some food and I'll try to make something with it.)

MY EYES!!!

I can't stand neon. Well. I like it. On others.
Nevermind.
Ming Xi's outfit:

And I went shopping with my mom this morning ♥
(Just the link, because I'm too lazy to make images, or take my own pictures of them.)

TRIANGLE

▲ Yep, that's a triangle.
You know food-pyramids, right? I made a 'life' pyramid.
But then a little diffrent.
The bottom row is the "YUGH, KILLS ME" row.
The row above that one is the "YUGH IT NEARLY KILLS ME" row.
Above that row we've got the "HMM. IRENE LIKES"row.
And on top we've got the "HEAVEN"
LtR,UtD:
(McDonalds)Icecream, Money, Forks (Which moron invented knifes, spoons and etiquettes? Forks are all you need, folks...), (Givenchy)FASHION, Internet.
Autumn, (Frida Kahlo)Art, Chinese Food, Tea, Pancakes, (Eatable)Apples, Nailpolish.
Wet leafs (Who invented that, it feels so gross on your skin), (Sushi)Fish: My tummy can't handle fish, People-Who-Use-Basic-Smileys, Caterpillars (I mean: What use do they have, they are weird. If there would be a school for insects, the caterpillar got bullied. Of course I know it turns into a butterfly, but couldn't the butterfly skip the entire caterpillar-being?), Perfume (Most people wear too much of it), Andy Warhol (Of course I understand he was/is very important for art, but I think he's doing what I'm doing: Using pictures that do already excist and editing them, and he was calling it 'art'), Nailpolishremover (Put it on your skin: IT BURNS!!!), English liquorice.
School (No explenations needed), Maths (Oh, miracle!), Lipgloss (It feels like there's bad pudding stuck to your lips), ASPERGES (The taste, the smell, the structure, the colour!), (HipHop)Caps, Alarm clocks (Especially at 07:05), Bright colours, Twitter (I mean, can you say what you want in 140 symbols? No way.)
If you read all of that, I love you.

Today's WOO.
It's actually getting hard enough to use a skirt as a top.

I Hate Stripes...

Actually, I don't, but my new Week.Of.Outfits (Which is too long to write, so it'll be WOO) is annoyingly difficult.
And two drawings I made:

(Drawed in Real Life, coloured with Gimp.)

(My take on Prada Fall2011, Miu Miu Fall2011, Daphne G. Backstage at Versace Summer2011 (But she doesn't look like Daphne at all...)

Thursday, April 14

Munch, munch.

I like the sound that word makes...
First of all: My favorite bags this season.
The cheapes is "just" €650,00, the most expensive €2.200,00.
(And the smalles one is the most expensive...)

And a new week of outfits.
Which I think is going to be really hard.
Topshop, Topshop, Topshop,
Topshop, Topshop, YSL, Miu Miu.

The first outfit and I already got stuck.

It's too simple. But combinating all those stripes is hard...

Beauty is on the Inside.

So what's insiede her PS1?
(The shoes were made out of Pierre Hardy's with Lanvin brooches, but I don't know if you want to pay over €200,00 per brooch to pimp up your shoes...

I think I did actualy like to make-over my least favorite Disney-princess, maybe I'm going to make-over Aurora or Cinderella too. Hmm.

Giraffe

I think I like giraffes.
I tried to make some kind of safari-look, but it looks a little cheap and a little bit too wild.

And two images I loved today.
Gemma Ward, Backstage somewhere, (McQueen? Dior? Some other extremely theatrical designer?)don't know the source.
Eniko on her way to LA by Terry Richardson. Source.

The Green Is Cool

I know PFW isn't finished yet, but I already made a favorites collage.
Turned out to be this:

Clockwise: My #2 Collection this season I think. Panthers and violets, Love that combination. (Not that you can see that in my favorite look, but whatever. The green is cool.)
I NEED AN AWESOME HAIR-ACCESOIRY!
Need too-cool-to-touch loafers.
Need too-grown-up-to-touch heels.
Balmain's perfect jeweled jumper/sweater. The cosiest piece of clothing meets the most glamourous look.
It's weird, I do maybe think this season's Chanel show is in my top 10, or even top 7 or 5 of this seasons shows. I love the moodier Chanel shows. And these boots are F to-the-you-get-it awesome.
You can't see the image anymore, cause it's hidden behind Hanne Gaby and the Chanel shoe, but it's a fabulous clutch.
I need to combine a colourblock-skirt with a wool sweater/jumper.

Now it's getting summer I want winter clothes.
Looking forward to McQueen.

Rapunzel

Favorite hairs ss"11.

Mandy Coon: Doesn't seem really comfortable, but it looks cute in a strange way. (Combinate strange/weird with cute and I'm yours.)
Diesel Black Gold: Just like Lanvin ss"10. In adoration of big knots on your head. (My hair is too short, but that doesn't matter.)
Rodarte: Do I need to explain?
Jaeger: Such little effort with an enormous effect. If I would wear this hairdo I would start drinking coffee. (I don't like coffee.)
Jenni Kayne: It isn't the hair that's that special, it's the combination of the hair, the glasses, the attitude. Perfect. Too casual to be casual.
Yves Saint Laurent: Don't mind Siri looking creepy. This hairstyle makes the models look like really catholic girls that hang around with the devil.

A lot of knots this season. But most of them were boring, or photographed boring.
What do you think?
